On the Ukrainian-Slovak border, border guards have uncovered two attempts to illegally cross the state border using forged documents. The perpetrators were two residents of Kyiv who tried to pose as parents with many children, the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service reports.
Circumstances of the incidents
The first case occurred at the "Mali Selmentsi" checkpoint. The border guard unit caught a 39-year-old Kyiv resident who provided a copy of a child's birth certificate, allegedly issued in Germany, as well as two other certificates. The man claimed that his newborn son was with his mother in Germany, but could not provide the child's name or date of birth, and could not explain the origin of the document.
The second case was recorded at the "Maly Berezny" checkpoint. A 30-year-old Kyiv resident provided two Ukrainian birth certificates and one issued in Moldova. During the inspection, border guards found signs of forgery of the latter document. It turned out that the certificate was obtained illegally for a monetary reward.
Both violators were denied entry to the border. Upon detection of forged documents, border guards sent a report to the National Police about the signs of a criminal offense under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps.".
The incidents once again confirm the importance of careful control at the state border and strict adherence to the rules for crossing the state border.
