The US is unlikely to be able to provide Ukraine with significant new batches of ATACMS missiles due to limited stockpiles and the long production time of these weapons. As CNN reports, an American official confirmed that in the conditions of modern warfare, Kyiv cannot count on the quick arrival of these weapons, which are important for defense.
He also stated that many of Ukraine's targets in Russia are beyond the scope of ATACMS, as the Russian military has withdrawn its weapons from there. First of all, we are talking about planes that launch glide bombs.
As the TV channel reports, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Umerov, however, has already given the Biden administration a list of targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, where Kyiv proposes to strike - if the USA lifts the ban on long-range strikes on Russian territory with American weapons.
"We explained what capabilities we need to protect citizens from the Russian terror inflicted on us by the Russians, so I hope we were heard," Umerov said in an interview with CNN.
However, the US has no intention of lifting its bans, the TV channel adds.
