Our sources in the President's Office inform us that Andriy Yermak is preparing a key draft, the purpose of which is to establish conditions for negotiations that are unacceptable to the Kremlin. The plan envisages a demand from Russia to pay reparations to Ukraine in the amount of one trillion dollars .
Details of the plan
According to Yermak's plan, this amount should be repaid in two stages:
- The frozen assets of Russia will become the basis for the initial repayment of the debt.
- Moscow will have to pay the rest of the funds annually for ten years.
Such conditions, as it is assumed, will cause a categorical refusal of the Kremlin, which will allow Ukraine to accuse Russia of not wanting to end the war.
What is Kyiv striving for?
This strategy aims to:
- Save Ukraine's position in the negotiation process.
- To withdraw Russia from the negotiations, exposing it in an unfavorable light in the international arena.
- To open the way for further isolation of Moscow in the eyes of the West.
It is expected that the demand for reparations on such a scale will become a "red flag" for the Russian side. The Kremlin has repeatedly stated its categorical rejection of such conditions, which confirms the calculation of Ukrainian diplomacy.
Ukraine seeks to use the negotiation process as another lever of pressure on Russia. At the same time, the demand for reparations will be a clear signal to international partners that Kyiv continues to insist on justice and compensation for the damage caused.
This plan is a risky but potentially effective diplomatic move that could significantly change the course of events on the international stage.
