In Kyiv, one of the companies tried to avoid paying taxes in the amount of almost 45 million hryvnias related to land lease. The Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) has completed the pre-trial investigation, and the case has already been sent to court.
The company leased more than 80 hectares of land in the capital, using it for mining. However, the rent was five times lower than the minimum rate. This allowed the company to avoid proper taxation, which caused the state to lose almost 45 million hryvnias.
The general director and the chief accountant of the company deliberately did not update the data on the category of land and its intended purpose, which allowed to reduce the rent and evade the payment of taxes. This caused significant economic losses for the state, which was confirmed by the results of economic examinations.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and two persons involved in the case have been charged with tax evasion under Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The prosecutor also filed a civil lawsuit for compensation for damages caused to the state.
The investigation was conducted by the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine and the procedural leadership of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
