Ukrainian law enforcement officers are investigating a large-scale corruption scheme related to the supply of low-quality dairy products for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the center of the case are officials of the Ministry of Defense and their accomplices, who organized activities that caused multi-million-dollar losses to the state.
According to the investigation, the controlled enterprises used fictitious tender conditions and contracts, which allowed them to inflate the cost of products and supply them without proper quality control. The actions of the organizers directly threatened the health and lives of servicemen.
Criminal proceedings were opened on September 3, 2024 under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigators are checking the actual ownership of the enterprises, financial flows, and mechanisms for legalizing proceeds obtained through criminal means.
Law enforcement officers are currently identifying the individuals involved and the consequences for Ukraine's budget and defense capabilities. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
