Prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Lviv have sent an indictment to the court against a Lviv resident and his mother, who are suspected of creating and maintaining a large-scale home drug laboratory.
As law enforcement officers established during the pre-trial investigation, a 48-year-old man, together with his 77-year-old mother, organized the illegal cultivation of cannabis on the territory of a private household in one of the villages of the Novoyarichiv settlement community of the Lviv region.
To implement the criminal scheme, they converted four rooms of a residential building and separate utility rooms. Special conditions were created in the premises for the clandestine cultivation of plants, including maintaining an appropriate microclimate, lighting, and an irrigation system.
According to the investigation, an elderly woman lived in the house permanently. While her son was in Lviv, she was the one who looked after the plants, controlled the temperature, and watered and fertilized the plantings.
The man periodically visited his mother, harvested, dried the cannabis, and transported the finished product to his apartment in Lviv. There, he additionally weighed, packaged, and packaged the drug, after which he sold it for cash during personal meetings.
During the authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized almost 1.9 kilograms of cannabis in dry matter, as well as resin and cannabis extract. In addition, special equipment for growing plants, cash, and other physical evidence of illegal activity were discovered.
The mother and son are charged with several serious crimes, including illegal acquisition, storage, transportation and sale of narcotics, illegal cultivation and cultivation of cannabis, and organization of a place for drug production. The actions of the accused are qualified under Part Two of Articles 307, 310 and 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation into the case was carried out by investigators of Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
