Law enforcement officers have exposed a criminal group that, according to investigators, embezzled over UAH 15.5 million intended for the purchase of spare parts and repairs of military equipment. The Prosecutor General's Office and the National Police reported this.
Two officials of a private company have been charged with embezzlement and embezzlement of funds during the supply of spare parts for armored vehicles. According to sources of "Ukrainian Pravda", this is LLC "B. M. C. Ukraine". One of the defendants - according to the UP, Roman Balykin - has been detained and placed in a temporary detention center.
According to the investigation, during 2024, the director and commercial director of the enterprise ensured the victory of the controlled company in defense tenders. Investigators point to:
-
manipulation of market prices;
-
imitation of competition between related companies;
-
systematic overpricing of spare parts.
The spare parts and kits were intended, in particular, for the Kirpi armored vehicles, which are actively used on the front lines.
According to the investigation, the director of the company organized the preparation of documents, communication with military units, and distribution of funds, while the commercial director created invoices and other documents with inflated prices.
To make the offer appear to be the "cheapest," the company manager sent requests for quotes to related entities, which submitted artificially inflated amounts. This created the appearance of a competitive procedure.
The examination established that under only two contracts, the illegally obtained funds exceeded UAH 15 million.
On November 27, police conducted 39 searches in Kyiv and seven regions: Kyiv, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Zhytomyr. Law enforcement officers seized documents and electronic media that are of evidentiary value in criminal proceedings.
The investigation is ongoing, and other possible participants in the scheme are being identified.
