This morning, an incident took place in the Odesa Zoo, which shocked the city. The leopard, while in the enclosure, attacked one of the facility's employees during cleaning. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa Region.
When the law enforcement officers arrived at the scene of the incident, which was reported by the director of the zoo, they found another worker in the enclosure who tried to help the injured person and was also trapped.
In order to save people's lives, the police were forced to use weapons and neutralize the animal, the report says.
The injured man was taken to the hospital, he has multiple wounds to the head, neck and limbs. The legal qualification of the event will be provided later.
The Odesa City Council informs that the injured person is being provided with all necessary medical assistance.
The local Telegram channel "Khu***ya Odesa" wrote that the leopard took the scalp of the worker who was feeding the predator, bit his neck and broke free.
At the same time, the "Novosti Odesa" Telegram channel denies the information that the animal escaped.
The publication "Dumskaya" adds that the employees of the State Emergency Service had to use a hydraulic tool to cut out part of the cage, because the animal did not let out the injured person.
