Sofiya Tarnavska, an 18-year-old lyceum student from Zhytomyr, who scored the maximum 800 points on the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT), decided to study in Poland after not receiving any offers from Ukrainian higher education institutions for free studies.
"We must not forget that there is a war going on in Ukraine, and staying in many cities, in particular in Kyiv, is quite dangerous," her father said in a comment to the Zhytomyr mass media.
The girl chose the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where she will study for free, because she and her father have a Polish card. She studied Polish since childhood. Will study molecular and cellular biophysics
"My choice was also influenced by the fact that in 2022, during the war, my mother and I spent some time in the Netherlands, where I chose a science profile in high school. I am interested in scientific work," says the girl.
In total, there are 7 children in Ukraine who scored 800 points this year. This means that they did not make a single mistake in all four subjects of the National Multiple Subjects Test.
