Malnutrition is one of the most common causes of chronic diseases. It is especially dangerous when it comes to gastric cancer. Doctors warn that some usual products can significantly increase the risk of digestive oncology.
Here are five categories of products that should be limited or completely excluded from your diet to reduce the risks:
1. Products with high salt content
Excessive salt intake not only provokes hypertension, but also damages the gastric mucosa, creating a favorable environment for the development of malignancies. Canned food, salted snacks, broth cubes and fast food are especially dangerous.
2. Recycled meat
Sausage, ham, sausages, bacon are all recycled red meat that is smoked, pickled or marinating. Such products contain nitrates and nitrites, which is associated with regular use with increased risk of gastric cancer. WHO classified the processed meat as a carcinogen in 2015.
3. Alcohol
The use of three or more alcoholic beverages daily increases the risk of gastric oncology. Alcohol damages the cells of the mucous membrane and promotes inflammatory processes that can develop into cancer.
4. Pickled products
Cucumbers, sauerkraut, mushrooms are the favorite food of many Ukrainians, especially in the winter season. However, regular consumption of pickled and fermented foods with a high content of salt and vinegar increases the likelihood of malignant tumors in the stomach.
5. Dried fish
Salt or dried fish - a popular beer snack - also belongs to the group of potentially carcinogenic products. The constant use of wobla, ram or other similar products is associated with the risk of gastric cancer due to the high concentration of salt and preservatives.
A healthy stomach begins with healthy eating. Even small daily changes in habits can reduce the risks of cancer. The diet should be balanced, rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, cereals, proteins - and with a minimum of food.
