In the conditions of heat that is kept throughout Ukraine, the Department of Health of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration reminded the Ukrainians of the danger of heat stroke and gave important first aid recommendations.
What is the heat stroke
The heat stroke is an acute condition that occurs as a result of overheating of the body, especially under the influence of direct sunlight or in a suffocating room. It threatens serious complications and requires immediate medical intervention.
The main symptoms of heat stroke:

severe headache;
-
confusion, disorientation;
-
heartbeat, shortness of breath;
-
nausea and vomiting;
-
dry, hot and red skin;
-
loss of consciousness;
-
fever;
-
Strong weakness, fatigue.
What to do if there is a heat stroke

Call an ambulance - call 103. The dispatcher will provide instructions and send a brigade if necessary.

Transfer the victim to a cool place away from the sun.

Cool the body - apply wet towels or ice bags to the neck, armpits and groin.

Give the water in small portions if a person is conscious.

When vomiting - put on the side to avoid shortness of breath.

Follow the person's condition before the arrival of doctors: control breathing, pulse and level of consciousness.
Prevention of heat stroke:

Avoid sun exposure in peak hours (12: 00–16: 00),

wear hats and light clothes,
-
Drink enough water,
-
Do not exercise in the heat.
The heat stroke is a dangerous condition that is easier to prevent than cure. Vigilance and timely help can save life.
