In Lviv region, law enforcement officers were exposed and reported suspicion of the deputy director of examination of temporary disability of one of the district hospitals in extortion and bribery. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, the medical officer demanded from the patient $ 2500 for influencing the decision of the expert commission to continue the III disability group. According to the prosecutor's office, the money was to provide the "positive" decision of the members of the commission to assess the functional state of the person.
The doctor was detained during the transfer of the entire stipulated amount in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the search, cash, draft records and medical records were seized in his office, which can be of evidence.
The court, having considered the request of the regional prosecutor's office, chose a pre -trial detention for the suspect - detention with the possibility of bail. He was also removed from his post at the time of the investigation.
The pre -trial investigation is currently underway. Law enforcement officers establish other possible participants in the corruption scheme related to the illegal impact on the work of medical and social expert commissions.
According to Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the receipt of undue benefit of large amounts is punishable by imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years with confiscation of property.
