President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved a law that provides for the elimination of medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) from 2025. Bill No. 12178, aimed at reforming the system of determining disability, received the support of the parliament and was signed by the head of state.
It is noted that the law was returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine today, December 30.
As we reported, in November, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 12178, which provides for the reform of the MSEC. In particular, from January 1, 2025, expert teams for assessing daily human functioning, consisting of practicing physicians, will begin operating.
On December 19, the parliament passed a law on the elimination of the MSEK from 2025. Instead, as noted by the People's Deputy from Holos Yaroslav Zheleznyak, from January 1, 2025, "the creation of expert commissions in cluster and supracluster hospitals (a modern system for assessing the functioning of a person) is being introduced.".
