A listening device with a camera was discovered in the office of the head of the Shevchenkivsk district administration, Iryna Dzhuryk. The Lviv City Council reported this on December 1. The official immediately contacted law enforcement to remove the device and clarify the circumstances of its installation.

According to the LMR, the device was found last week while the room was being painted. It was hidden under a ceiling cornice and painted over, making it invisible. It was previously determined that the device had been inactive for some time.
Iryna Dzhuryk explained that the last cosmetic renovation of the office was carried out in 2020, and it was likely that the camera could have been installed then. “It was very well hidden and neatly painted over, so it was impossible to notice it,” the official noted.
Iryna Dzhuryk has been the head of the Shevchenkivsk RA since 2023. Before that, the district was headed by Nadiya Banakh since 2017. Law enforcement officers are currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident and the origin of the hidden device.
