Radio Liberty Correspondent Ricard Josvyak announced the first case of rotation of observers of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP through the territory controlled by Russia without prior agreement with Ukraine. This rotation was carried out, despite international calls and warnings, including the European Union.
This news was also confirmed by Russian Rosatom, which told about this process through its propaganda channels. Ricard Jezvyak noted that a few days ago it was considered impossible, but despite the reservation and difficult international conditions, the IAEA still decided to rotate through the occupied territories.
“Without the consent of Ukraine and contrary to the EU warning. Raphael Grosssey, who seeks to become the next UN Secretary General, ”the journalist said, emphasizing that this decision is controversial and can have far -reaching consequences for international security in the context of the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP.
This step can raise additional questions about the IAEA neutrality and its ability to fulfill its mission in the territory occupied by Russia. This decision also calls into question further cooperation between Ukraine and the IAEA in the conditions of war, when every step in control of nuclear objects becomes the subject of political and legal disputes.
At the same time, according to experts, such decisions can aggravate the situation with security at the Zaporozhye NPP and have important political consequences for relations between Ukraine and international organizations. At the same time, this can be another stage in increasing tension between international security institutions and countries that violate international rules.
