The Space Weather Prediction Center of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has published a forecast of geomagnetic activity for August 19 and 20, 2025.
Geomagnetic storms are rated on a K-index scale from 2 to 9. The higher the index, the stronger the impact of the storm on the human body, communications, technology, and other systems.
A magnetic storm with a K-index of 5, corresponding to a red level of activity, is expected in Ukraine on August 19. People who are weather-dependent may especially feel it: they may experience headaches, increased fatigue, or fluctuations in blood pressure.
No storms are forecast for August 20, but geomagnetic disturbances will remain at an elevated level. Experts recommend being careful and taking care of your health, especially if you feel hypersensitivity to changes in the magnetic field.
Forecasts are approximate and updated every three hours. The most accurate information scientists can provide one day in advance.
To reduce the negative impact of geomagnetic storms, it is recommended to avoid overexertion, get more rest, monitor your well-being, and be careful on the road and when working with machinery. It is important to listen to your body and, if necessary, consult a doctor.
