President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the assignment of police to Oleg Sacherin of the highest state award - the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star. This decision was made on July 4, on the Day of the National Police of Ukraine.
The decree notes the personal heroism and courage of Oleg Skerin, manifested in the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as its selfless service to the Ukrainian people.
For more than 26 years of service in the law enforcement agencies and the National Police, Major Skerin has gone from the Battalion of the Patrol Service of the Special Purpose Police to Lviv to the CORD-Corps of operational-rapid action.
As an explosion, he performed combat missions in Lugansk, Kharkiv, Toretsky and other areas. During his service, Oleg Sacherin went to the "gray zone" 23 times in the area of Toretsk, where he installed 175 mines, where Russian soldiers were blown up. He also equipped 143 mine barriers that destroyed two enemy battle armored vehicles with a landing. He personally neutralized more than 350 ammunition and explosive objects.
In addition, Major Skerin ensured the destruction of several enemy sabotage groups, replacing and undermining the buildings where they kept the defense, saving the lives of their brothers.
On April 29, during a combat mission, he was injured by a Russian shock unmanned aviation complex, which led to loss of hand and eye damage. He is currently under treatment.
The Lviv police note that Oleg Skerin's contribution is invaluable in the protection of Ukraine, and his heroism and dedication have become an example for many.
