Ola Fine LLC, led by Maxim Krippa, became the owner of the Ukraine Hotel in Kyiv, winning a privatization auction for UAH 2.5 billion. This event aroused considerable interest among experts and the public, as the hotel is an important object in the history of the capital.
On September 18, an online auction determined the company that will privatize the iconic hotel “Ukraine” in Kyiv. The winner was Maksym Krippa’s LLC “Ola Fine”. The investor considers 2.5 billion hryvnias to be a completely reasonable price and is convinced that it is worth investing in Ukraine right now. Maksym Krippa told Forbes Ukraine about the decision to bid and his plans for the hotel.
“The bid of 2.5 billion hryvnias is quite justified, given the importance and value of the hotel. In preparation for participating in the auction, we conducted an analysis and assessed the real value of the asset. I am sure that a square meter in the center of the capital of Ukraine cannot cost the amounts that were offered by other participants. Our offer is a fair price, and by my example I have shown that such legendary objects cannot be bought for nothing,” commented Maksym Krippa.
He shared when the reconstruction of the Ukraine Hotel could begin, and also said that in addition to expanding investment assets in real estate, his interests remain IT, video game development, and esports.
Maksym Krippa pays special attention to charity: “The most important thing for me today is supporting Ukraine. The charitable organization MK Foundation, which I founded, is focused on the logistical support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, rescue and medical services. This is a completely private capital initiative. No donations or fees. So far, the total amount of assistance has reached UAH 830 million,” the businessman commented.
Under the terms of privatization, the new owner must pay off the hotel's debts to employees, the state, and creditors, and also undertakes not to change the main type of activity of the facility for five years and not to lay off employees for at least the first six months.
