New photos of the Azovstal plant , which was one of the symbols of the heroic resistance of Ukrainian defenders in Mariupol, have been published online the OstroV , and they once again demonstrate the scale of the destruction caused by the Russian occupiers.
Azovstal: from a defensive fortress to ruins
Before the full-scale invasion, Azovstal was a powerful metallurgical enterprise and one of the key economic facilities of Mariupol. However, in 2022, the plant became the last stronghold of the Ukrainian military , which for more than two months held back numerous attacks by the occupiers, protecting the city from complete destruction.
Now Azovstal is just ruins . The published photos show completely destroyed buildings, burned-out metal structures, mountains of concrete and debris .
