On the night of April 24, Russian troops struck a large-scale combined blow in Kiev, using several types of weapons: winged rockets type "Caliber", Drone-Kamikadze "Shahaned" and ballistic missiles. The attack has caused numerous destruction in the residential areas of the capital, fires and victims among civilians.
The first explosions came shortly after midnight. At about 02:00, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported large -scale fires in several areas of the city, including residential and non -residential buildings. They also burned cars, garages and dry grass.
As of 04:00, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported at least two dead and 54 victims, including six children. Already in the morning, at 06:00, the State Emergency Service has updated this data: the number of dead increased to nine people, the wounded - to 63. Rescuers noted that children remain among the victims.
“There were fires in garages, administrative buildings, non -residential facilities. Due to the fall of the debris, car and grass were burning. The firefighters quickly eliminated the ignition, ”the SES reported.
Emergency services are still working on the shelling sites, searching and rescue work is ongoing, in particular under the rubble of destroyed buildings. Social networks and media appeared the effects of night shelling: mutilated houses, burning cars, broken windows, smoke and destroyed facades.
This is the second large -scale attack in Ukrainian cities in recent days. Explosions were also heard in other areas of Ukraine, which indicates a high level of threat from the air.
