In Transcarpathia, a outbreak of food poisoning associated with the use of water from a natural source - a spike -water waterfall was recorded. As of July 12, medical care was needed for 38 people, most of whom were participants in the youth informal festival nearby.
The first cases of poisoning were registered on July 8. Nine people who lived in tents in the waterfall within the Pylypetsky Territorial Community, appealed to doctors with complaints of symptoms typical of food poisoning. Their condition was light or moderate. Everyone was hospitalized.
By July 12, the number of victims increased to 38. Among them are 28 participants of the festival and 10 other tourists who did not participate in the event, but also consumed non -boiled water from the waterfall. The condition of most patients is stable, severe or fatal consequences.
According to preliminary information, poisoning caused the use of raw water from a waterfall for drinking and cooking. Laboratory studies are ongoing.
At the Transcarpathian Center for Control and Disease Prevention, they called for basic safety rules during nature:
-
do not drink raw water from open springs;
-
take care of proper storage of products, especially in hot weather;
-
wash your hands before eating;
-
At the first symptoms of ailment, consult a doctor.
The spipot festival collects hundreds of people every year, but this time a popular place has become a source of danger.
