At least 40 people were injured in a large-scale Russian missile and drone strike on the territory of Ukraine on the night of September 28. Among the injured are children. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the most serious consequences were recorded in Kyiv, where four people died, including a 12-year-old girl. Attacks were also carried out in Kyiv region, Zaporizhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy and Odessa regions.
"In general, at least 40 injured people are known in Ukraine, including children," the president said.
The facilities that came under fire include a bread production enterprise, a rubber manufacturing plant, apartment buildings and private houses, as well as other civilian infrastructure facilities. According to information released this morning, damage was recorded in six districts of Kyiv. In Solomyanskyi district, a high-rise building, a gas station and the building of the Institute of Cardiology were destroyed as a result of the hit. In the Kyiv region, Petropavlivska Borshchahivka and Bila Tserkva were the most affected. The total number of wounded in these settlements reached 27 people. According to the Air Force, Russia used almost 500 strike drones and more than 40 missiles of various types against Ukraine.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing, new damage is being recorded, and the number of victims may change.
