At the meeting of the Servant of the People faction, a personnel decision was made regarding the support of the candidacy of the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvyi Bidny for the position of Minister of this department.
According to sources, the next promotion of Matvyi Bidnyi to the post has a political aspect - the Servants of the People are preparing for the election campaign in 2025, and they expect to replenish the "black party coffers" from the budgets allocated for sports.
"Poor man's task is to redistribute the budget in such a way as to ensure cash flow for the elections. Kickbacks for facilities, money laundering for sports events, funding of federations. For example, it is necessary to pressure the federations so that they pay not the traditional 20% kickback, but 50%, otherwise their funding will be transferred to others. To understand the order of numbers, the cost of holding two identical sports tournaments at the regional level without kickback and with kickback costs 1 million and 5-6 million hryvnias, respectively." - said our source, who wished to remain anonymous.
We remind you that Matvii Bidny was appointed acting of the Minister of Youth Sports on November 9, 2023. According to media reports , Bidny was appointed to the post under the patronage of Volodymyr Zelenskyi's fitness trainer Vadym Danilchenko.
