The mother of the victim of Ukrainian model from Dubai stated she knows the names of the attackers

The 20-year-old Ukrainian model Maria Kovalchuk, which was found in March on the roadside road in Dubai with severe injuries, continues treatment and began to speak for the first time in a long time. This was reported by her mother in the comments to journalists.

Maria is still in a medical facility at the UAE, where the course of rehabilitation is underway after eight complex operations, in particular due to numerous fractures of the extremities and spine. According to her mother, her daughter cannot walk yet, but communicating with her has become possible.

"Masha has already started talking, but she can't tell in detail what happened to her," the woman said.

The mother also stated that she has information about the persons involved in the beating, and has already transferred their names to the UAE law enforcement agencies. According to her, the suspects were included in the prosecutor's office.

The history of extinction

Maria Kovalchuk went to the United Arab Emirates in December 2024 - under contract as a model. In March 2025, the girl's girlfriend reported her disappearance - Maria ceased to communicate. The search lasted 10 days.

The girl was found unconscious on the roadside of one of the roads in Dubai, without documents and a mobile phone. The condition was critical: numerous fractures, serious injuries, complete loss of memory and speech.

The history of Maria Kovalchuk has received wide resonance not only in Ukraine but also beyond. Social networks and media are calling for careful international investigation, support for the victim and punishment of the perpetrators.

Against the backdrop of high -profile discussions and statements of the family, the pressure on the UAE investigation is increasing, and society is expecting official results of the investigation.

Maria is not the only Ukrainian woman who has suffered abroad during model trips, and this case can be a turning point in changing the approach to protecting our citizens abroad.
