The capital recorded a new outbreak of hepatitis A. As reported at the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the disease was found in the Solomenskiy district. An epidemiological investigation is currently underway to establish the source of infection and the scale of spread.
Hepatitis A is a viral liver disease that is easily transmitted through contaminated water, food, as well as through household contacts or non -compliance with personal hygiene rules. Experts remind that the incubation period can last up to 30 days, so you should be especially careful to the first symptoms.
The most characteristic manifestations of the disease are fever, general weakness, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, darkening of urine and jaundice (yellow skin and eye proteins).
Doctors urge residents of the area to observe strict hygiene, use only purified water, wash their hands thoroughly before eating and after visiting the toilet. It is especially important to prevent healthy persons with potentially ill.
