Ukrainian singer Iryna Fedyshyn continued her public dispute with singer Melovin, accusing him of intolerance due to his offensive remarks towards her. She spoke about this in an interview with Masha Efrosinina, recalling the high-profile scandal regarding her views on the LGBT community.
When asked by the host about the consequences of her statements in which she implied that homosexuality was a sin, Fedyshyn reacted emotionally:
“Now look at how he answered, Maria. Is that tolerant? He said I was a fool. And all that. Is that tolerant?”
This is about singer Melovin's reaction to Fedyshyn's previous statements about homosexuality. After her public criticism of LGBT people, Melovin called Iryna "stupid" on social media and sharply condemned her position.
In a conversation with Efrosinina, Iryna Fedyshyn once again emphasized her religious position:
"I am a Christian. I live by the Bible.".
The singer also expressed concern that, in her opinion, some members of the LGBT community impose their orientation on other people. However, she did not give specific examples.
The scandal between Fedyshyn and Melovin erupted last year when the singer publicly voiced her opinion that homosexual relationships are a sin. This was immediately responded to by numerous stars and activists, who accused Fedyshyn of homophobia.
The sharpest response came from Melovin, an openly gay man and one of the most prominent representatives of the LGBT community among Ukrainian artists. He emotionally responded to Iryna's words, calling her "stupid" and urging artists not to cover up their disdain for others with religion.
