Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko officially dismissed his deputy Petro Olenich, who was responsible for land issues and digitalization in the KSCA. The reason for the resignation was suspected corruption schemes with the removal of land from communal property, in particular - in the scandalous "toilet scheme".
Despite the loud accusations, Klitschko chose the soft formula of liberation - "with the consent of the parties", which allowed Olenich to avoid more stringent consequences.
How and why were Peter Olenich released?
The order for the release of Olena was dated March 7, 2025. The formulation of the parties' agreement is quite loyal, because the mayor could apply other reasons - for example, to release the official through absenteeism. This would be a logical solution, given his stay in the pre -trial detention center and the subsequent leaner, which he was forced to take on.
The financial "parachute pillow" from the KSCA
is interesting that together with the dismissal Olenich will receive monetary compensation - the KSCA will pay him money for unused 20 days of vacation. In fact, the power of Kiev not only says goodbye to the deputy mayor, but also helps him "gently land" after a loud scandal.
Why didn't it be a surprise?
On February 28, Vitaliy Klitschko declared "cleaning" in the city authorities after corruption investigations. In addition to Olenich, he also named two officials of communal enterprises and the chairman of the land commission of Kyiv City Council Mikhail Terentyev, whom the mayor called for a deputy mandate.
However, there was no place for other persons involved in the case, including deputy Elena Marchenko, who also received suspicion of corruption schemes.
