Mayor Netishina Oleksandr Suprunyuk found himself in the center of a high -profile scandal that divided the opinions of the community residents and caused widespread resonance in the Khmelnytsky region. In December 2024, he officially received suspicion of criminal case related to the purchase of drones of poor quality for the needs of the Armed Forces. The court removed him from office, but the question remains open: is it an attempt to eliminate the mayor for political reasons, or is a real example of official negligence?
Suprunyuk is charged with official negligence , which has led to multimillion -dollar losses. In 2024, the Netishyn City Council, under his leadership, purchased 1000 FPV-kides worth more than 20 million UAH. However, a third of these funds, according to the investigation, found herself in the supplier's pockets due to the replacement of components with cheaper counterparts.
Each drone was "cut" for 6 thousand hryvnias, and the director of the supplier company was suspected in August. Subsequently, Suprunyuk also came under suspicion, as he signed the reception acts without checking the technical characteristics of the copter.
On December 16, the court made a decision to remove Alexander Suprunyuk from his post and appointed him a precautionary measure in the form of a night arrest. In response, the subordinate mayor made an official statement in which his actions were supported.
“From the beginning of the invasion, the Netishin community has actively assisted the front, which is due to the position of the mayor. Removal of him from office can adversely affect the military assistance, ”the statement reads.
Suprunyuk himself publicly declares a politically motivated persecution, comparing himself with Zaluzhny, Nickname and other officials who, he said, suffer pressure from the authorities.
Before receiving suspicion, the mayor encountered criticism of the local community. Among the accusations are failure to fulfill promises to combat drug trafficking, irrational use of the budget, and the payment of high bonuses to officials. Activists have repeatedly declared abuse of financial resources and demanded changes in the city council.
The situation around the mayor of Netishin causes contradictory estimates. On the one hand, the purchase of drones was an initiative aimed at supporting the military, but on the other, the shortcomings in the organization caused millions of losses.
