Oleg Stogniy, the mayor of the city of Romny, Sumy region, was suspected in connection with the beating of the secretary of the city council. The incident took place on August 22, and its moment was recorded by video surveillance cameras, reports Oleksiy Mykhailiuk.
The Sumy regional prosecutor's office reported this. Stogniy is liable to deprivation of liberty or restriction of liberty for a term of 3 to 5 years.
It is known that on December 22, 2023, Stogniy and the secretary of the city council, Vyacheslav Hubar, had a dispute at the workplace due to official issues. As a result, Mayor Romney hit a subordinate several times. According to the results of the examination, the victim has minor injuries.
Oleksandr Korshun, acting head of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, informed Oleg Stogniy about the suspicion under part 2 of Art. 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violence against an official). The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigators of the Romen District Police Department of the State Police in Sumy Oblast under the procedural guidance of the Romen District Prosecutor's Office.
