Without a military registration document, a conscript may have difficulties crossing the border or receiving consular services abroad, because such a document must be issued in Ukraine. This was reported by People's Deputy of Ukraine Yuriy Kamelchuk.
“Regarding consular services abroad. I said that if there is some kind of tough version, I will speak out against it. Because, as a representative of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, we work with human rights, and at the European level, no one would understand this,” Kamelchuk said.
According to him, as far as he understands, the consulate will update the data in parallel with the provision of some services. However, conscripts will still need to obtain the necessary document in Ukraine, and its absence will lead to difficulties.
“Unless the consulate and representative office of Ukraine develop some specific document to obtain such a document in the territory of another country,” the deputy explained, adding that otherwise there may be an outflow of citizens abroad, “that is, a renunciation of citizenship,” if there is no opportunity to use consular services.
