The head of the "Servant of the People" party, Olena Shulyak, said that millions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine can get housing in state and communal facilities, which are currently unused. She announced this during a speech at one of the events dedicated to solving the problem of displaced people.
And with the consent of the owners - and in private real estate.
To this end, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 11281, which provides for the creation of a database of such objects that will be put on the map with photographs.
"An all-Ukrainian inventory of all immovable property will be conducted, which belongs to the state form of ownership, and to the communal form of ownership, and - with the consent of the owners - to the private form of ownership. In order to understand in which residential buildings - houses, hotels, dormitories there can be additional accommodation for our internally displaced persons," says Shulyak.
The settlers themselves will be able to choose where they would like to live by choosing the appropriate object on the interactive map.
If necessary, facilities in poor condition are planned to be repaired at the expense of international donors and sister cities.
According to official data, there are almost 5 million IDPs in Ukraine. And in fact it can be even more.
