The Ministry of Energy explained why situations are possible in Kyiv when some houses on the same street have electricity, while others remain without power. The reason lies in different connections to energy nodes and the state of distribution networks.
As Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk noted, some sections of the capital's distribution infrastructure have been damaged and have not yet been restored, while other lines remain operational. This is what leads to the fact that power supply is not restored simultaneously, even within the same street.
According to him, power engineers are working around the clock to localize damage and perform backup switching to restored power lines in order to increase the amount of electricity available to consumers as quickly as possible.
"Currently, around-the-clock work is underway to localize the damage, backup switching to restored power lines is being carried out, that is, such backup lines, in order to increase the available electricity for all consumers as quickly as possible by all possible means. But even after temporary switching, repeated outages are sometimes possible, and only comprehensive repairs are a guarantee of stable operation of the power system," Kolisnyk explained during the telethon.
The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that full stabilization of electricity supply is possible only after the completion of all restoration work and repair of damaged infrastructure.
