In March 2025, the total state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine increased by 1.56% and reached $ 171.73 billion. In UAH equivalent, the debt reached UAH 7.123, the updated data of the Ministry of Finance testify.
Compared to February 2025, the State debt increased by $ 2.64 billion. For comparison, at the end of February, the debt amounted to UAH 7.02, or $ 169.09 billion.
At the end of March, direct public debt amounted to UAH 6.85 ($ 165.2 billion), while in February - UAH 6.74 trillion ($ 162.36 billion).
In particular:

Direct external debt increased from $ 118.05 billion to $ 120.94 billion.

Direct internal debt decreased slightly - from 1.84 trillion UAH to UAH 1.83 trillion (in dollars - from 44.31 billion to 44.26 billion).
The state guaranteed debt amounted to UAH 271.03 billion, or $ 6.75 billion.
The Ukrainian State Defense Council continues to grow rapidly since the beginning of the full -scale war. In particular:

In the first three months of 2025, debt increased by 14.27% or $ 20.74 billion.

In 2024, debt increased by $ 33.87 billion to 166.06 billion.

In 2023, growth was 30.4%.

In 2022 - by $ 13.39 billion (13.66%).

In 2021 - by 8.52%, or $ 7.69 billion.

In 2020 - an increase of 6.9% (from $ 84.4 to $ 90.3 billion).
Thus, in five years, debt increased more than twice-from $ 84.4 billion in 2020 to more than $ 171 billion in March 2025.
