The Ministry of Health announced the creation of the Okhmatdyt Recovery Council

The creation of the Council for the Restoration of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital has been officially announced, the main goal of which is to control the process of rebuilding the largest children's hospital in Ukraine. The first eight members of the Council have already been identified, including representatives of charitable, international and intergovernmental organizations, as well as diplomats and health care professionals.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the members of the Okhmatdyt Restoration Council include:

1. Jako Silje – UNDP Ukraine Resident Representative in Ukraine.
2. Donatas Butku* – Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine.
3. Igor Katsitadze – Health Specialist, UNICEF Ukraine.
4. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi – Chairman of the Board of NPC “Ukrenergo”.
5. Nazar Kupibida – Vice President for Finance, Joint Stock Company “Concern GALNAFTOGAZ” OKKO.
6. Yulia Vysotska – Director of PrJSC “NVO “PRAKTYKA”.
7. Evgeniy Gonchar – Head of the Department for Policy Formation in the Field of the Medical Guarantees and Medical Services Program of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
8. Olena Larina – Internal Control Specialist, NDSL Okhmatdyt.

Viktor Lyashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine, expressed gratitude to the participants for their willingness to contribute to the restoration of the hospital. “The first meeting of the Council will take place soon. We appreciate everyone’s willingness to invest their time and knowledge in ensuring a transparent and high-quality process of restoring Okhmatdyt,” Lyashko noted in his Facebook post.

In parallel, the selection of civil society representatives to complete the Council is underway. Until August 14, 2024, civil society organizations can submit applications for participation by filling out the appropriate form.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health canceled tenders for technical supervision and consulting services for the restoration of Okhmatdyt. As it became known, the decision was made after “Nashi Groshi” revealed problems with the tenders, in particular, the fact that the winner of one of the tenders was a company with no experience, whose offer was one of the most expensive among all participants. Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko confirmed that agreements with the winner of the tender have not yet been concluded, and the tender will be transferred to the Prozorro platform.

It is also planned that the funds from charitable foundations intended for the restoration of "Okhmatdyt" will be transferred directly to the hospital's account to ensure transparent use of funds.
