The Ministry of Health has disclosed the frightening indicators of oncology in Ukraine

It is known that annually in Ukraine 65 thousand citizens lose their lives due to cancer, while the other 140 thousand learn about their terrible diagnosis. According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, the country took second place in Europe in terms of the rate of spread of oncological diseases.

The agency emphasized that the key factor in combating this problem is early diagnosis. For this purpose, the state has already allocated 1 billion hryvnias.

“Focusing on early diagnosis is critical to reducing mortality. That is why endoscopic examinations have become priority services in the medical guarantee program," the message posted on the Facebook page reads.

It is also indicated that the guaranteed package of free examinations includes:

  • mammography;
  • hysteroscopy;
  • esophagogastroduodenoscopy;
  • colonoscopy;
  • cystoscopy;
  • bronchoscopy.

The Ministry of Health additionally reminded that to undergo examinations it is necessary to have a referral from a family or other doctor.
