According to information that appeared in the mass media, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine concluded contracts for the supply of weapons with the Czech defense company AKM Group-CZ, which has a dubious reputation. The contracts provided for the supply of sniper rifles and cartridges for the Armed Forces of Ukraine throughout 2023. However, a year later, the "Defense Procurement Agency" conducted an analysis of the company's activities and came to disappointing conclusions.
1) The company does not have a reputation that is at all worthy of trust, and changed the type of activity to military only in 2023.
2) The authorized capital of the company is only 82,000 euros, which is clearly not enough to carry out financial operations in particularly large volumes. At the same time, Czech law enforcement authorities have already opened an investigation into AKM Group-CZ, and due to the suspicious nature of the transactions, they seized $38.8 million transferred to companies from Ukraine.
3) AKM Group-CZ allegedly has connections with the Czech LOM PRAHA sp, which in turn cooperates with companies of the defense complex of the Russian Federation and are under US economic sanctions.
4) The beneficial owner and financial director of the company is one Anatoliy Palaniychuk, who has the citizenship of Ukraine and Romania and previously worked in managerial positions of the structural subdivisions of the Tax Police of Ukraine.
