The Defense Ministry purchases mines from the manufacturer who failed previous contracts

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to buy 300 thousand 120 mm mines from a state manufacturer, despite the fact that this company has not fulfilled previous contracts. The Public Anti -Corruption Council in Ukraine warns that such purchases can jeopardize the front of the front and lead to another scandal.

The military expert Sergey Zgurets drew attention to this situation, who reported that the Ministry of Defense was going to work again with an enterprise that had already had a problem with the execution of the state order.

According to the Public Anti -Corruption Council, the problem is that the Ministry of Defense concentrates an order on one manufacturer, which has already demonstrated the inability to execute previous contracts. Although, due to the secrecy mode, the details of the agreements are not disclosed, anti -corruption activists say that such a scheme threatens stable supplies of ammunition to the front.

Gar MO has repeatedly paid attention to this problem, but there was no reaction from the management of the defense department. As a result, the council decided to go into the public space to draw attention to the situation.

Earlier it became known that some of the 120-mm mines made by state-owned enterprises were recognized as poor quality. The Minister for Strategic Industry Strategic Industry, Herman Smetanin said the problem is the powder used to make ammunition. However, according to other data, the manufacturer used the wrong blades - from tank shells instead of those intended for mortars. As a result, the mines simply did not explode.

Currently, the mineral stake has already recognized a lack of 24,000 mines, a large part of which had to be replaced. However, the problem is not solved - and the Ministry of Defense continues to order ammunition from the same manufacturer.

The Public Anti -Corruption Council at the MoD appealed to the High Commander -in -Chief's rate demanding to diversify the purchases - that is, to distribute the order between several manufacturers to avoid dependence on one supplier.

Activists also demand:

  • Conduct investigations into the supply of substandard mines;

  • To publish the number of ammunition that have been returned due to defects;

  • Identify and hold the officials who have committed these violations.

In addition, Gar MO has already applied to law enforcement agencies, which refers to the possible criminal acts of officials responsible for interaction with the producers.

Military expert Sergey Zgurets emphasizes that the issue of ammunition supply to the front is not just a bureaucratic problem, but the issue of survival of Ukrainian soldiers. After all, if defective mines enter the war zone, it can lead to tragic consequences.

"The situation will continue, and media structures will track the events related to this order. Because while defense enterprises supply defective mines, our warriors on the forefront are forced to compensate for it with their courage," Zgurets summed up.
