The new project, registered by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, envisages significant changes in the disability pension system. The main goal is equalization of payments for all citizens, regardless of their social status or category. However, the law also has important aspects and limitations, among which are the maximum pension limits of more than UAH 23,000, in addition to payments to combatants.
The Ministry of Social Affairs signed and registered a new law, according to which disability pensions for all citizens, regardless of their status, should be equalized. Pensions for people who need support due to disability will be calculated according to the general rule, without taking into account the special status of persons.
This was announced by the Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zholnovich, during a briefing.
Regarding disability pensions for high-ranking officials, we have already registered the law, which stipulates that all pensions are calculated based on disability, according to the general rule. When a person needs disability support, it doesn't matter if it's a prosecutor, an accounting specialist, or just a journalist, for example. It doesn't matter, this is a person who needs support, we should count on the actual support in need, not some special statute
Also, she added that this will not apply to combatants, as support is kept separately for them. The changes also concern the limitation of pensions for officials who received high pensions. According to the new draft law, pensions exceeding UAH 23,000 will be limited by coefficients, in particular for prosecutors and top officials who received increased pensions due to court decisions.
Earlier we wrote that the Ministry of Health checked 924 cases regarding the establishment of disability of officials, of which 136 people lost their disabled status. Two prosecutors have already been charged with suspicion, and more than 2,000 cases are under investigation.
