Mobile operators' investments in operational stability during a blackout are 3-5% of the required

According to our source, during a closed meeting on the work of mobile operators under martial law, real figures on readiness for long blackouts were announced.

According to the results of the meeting, it turned out that the ability of operators to provide mobile communications after a power outage remains at the level of 3-4 hours in the capital and 2-3 hours in other cities. Regarding the operation of the mobile Internet, according to the source, the situation is much worse.

At the same time, according to the source, mobile operators' investments in ensuring uninterrupted operation during blackouts amounted to 3-5 percent of what is needed to ensure stable operation.

As a reminder, on July 15, the state-owned National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks (NCT) significantly tightened the requirements for the operation of mobile operators' base stations during martial law. In particular, mobile operators were required to ensure the autonomous operation of base stations for 10 consecutive hours.
