The command of the Ground Forces allows the mobilization of men aged 50 to 60 only under a special mobilization order. This was confirmed by People's Deputy and member of the Committee on National Security and Defense of the Verkhovna Rada Fedir Venislavskyi in a comment for Liga.net .
According to him, the directive of the Command of the Ground Forces does contain a provision that limits the enlistment of persons of this age category. This practice corresponds to the general position of the military leadership, which believes that citizens over the age of 50 should be mobilized only if they have critical military accounting specialties.
A separate order on the mobilization of these citizens can only be issued by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, taking into account all the necessary data.
We will remind that information about this directive was first made public on September 23 by People's Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko. He noted that according to the document, the conscription of citizens aged 18-25 has been stopped, and the main mobilization is taking place among men aged 25-49. Mobilization of persons aged 50 to 60 takes place only by individual orders of the General Staff, which requires the issuance of separate orders for each conscript.
