A new stage of mobilization is starting in Ukraine, in the framework of which men under the age of 25 can be mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press service of the Odesa regional TCC and JV shared important information about this process through their Facebook page.
"The TCC and SP explains: indeed, men aged 18 to 25 are enrolled in the category of conscripts. However, there are cases when such persons can be mobilized," the message reads.
Mobilization of men under 25 years of age
In particular, men under the age of 25 can be mobilized if:
- the person completed military service in peacetime;
- the person graduated from a higher military educational institution or military department and received a military accounting specialty;
- a person recognized by the VLK as unfit for military service in peacetime and fit for military service.
However, according to the legislation, Ukraine no longer has the status of "limited suitability". Such persons, who previously had it, remain conscripted, even if they are under 25 years old. What's more, such men can check their military registration documents and send them to re-pass the VLK. After that, a man can get the following status:
- suitable for service;
- suitable for service in military support units, TCC, military educational institutions, training centers, institutions, medical units, units of logistics, communication, operational support, security;
- unfit for service with exclusion from military registration;
- temporarily unfit when a person needs treatment, leave, release from official duties;
- unfit for service with revision after 6-12 months.
