Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that the problems with mobilization in Ukraine are the result of its own mistakes, and not only the influence of Russia. He voiced his assessment during a meeting of the LB Club.
According to Budanov, the main reason for the failure of the mobilization processes was a “thoroughly lost media campaign,” which increased tension and caused a negative attitude of society towards the mobilization. “We all blame the Russian Federation, but their influence is not as great as everyone thinks. It was all done from within. Sometimes deliberately, due to the own ambitions of certain people. Sometimes thoughtlessly. We ourselves destroyed our mobilization,” he emphasized.
Budanov emphasized that criticism and accusations of external factors often distract from a real analysis of internal processes that influenced the effectiveness of mobilization.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers registered in the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 14320, which aims to improve the activities of military management bodies regarding military duty, mobilization training and mobilization. This draft law is designed to correct systemic shortcomings and increase the efficiency of organizing mobilization activities.
