Deputy Head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Roman Hreba lives on an official's salary, but drives a luxurious Lexus RX350 worth over 2.6 million hryvnias, and his wife keeps $170,000 in cash at home. This became known from his declaration, which was published by the publication 368.media.
Roman Hreba, who combines civil service with active participation in sports organizations, has a considerable fortune. His family owns an apartment in the very center of Kyiv with an area of 106 square meters, purchased back in 2013 for 1.22 million hryvnias. Although the official works in Chernivtsi, his main place of residence actually remains the capital.
In Chernivtsi, Hreba rents the first floor of a private house of 99 square meters with a land plot of 500 square meters. In addition, he rents a parking space in the Image Pictures residential complex in Kyiv.
The Lexus RX350, which he purchased in December 2022 for 2.67 million hryvnias, is the official's only vehicle.
His wife, Iryna Hreba, is a businesswoman and yoga teacher. She owns two companies: “GR Group” with a charter capital of 200 thousand hryvnias and “Orion-RVE”, in which she has a 33.3% stake. The declaration also indicates that Iryna holds 170 thousand US dollars in cash.
Despite this, the family's official income looks modest: Roman Hreba's salary in the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration for the year amounted to 434.5 thousand hryvnias, and his wife replenished the account with only 537.7 thousand "from savings."
Interestingly, the official holds several influential public positions at once: president of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports, vice-president of the European Federation of School Sports, chairman of the ethics committee of the International Federation of School Sports in Belgium, and head of the Ukrainian Cybersports Federation. Officially, all of these positions are unpaid.
However, the lifestyle of the official and his family raises many questions. Even considering official income, such an amount of property and cash looks, at the very least, disproportionate.
