In Ukraine, postgraduate education applicants are underway, and about 3,000 people who entered in 2023 have already been deducted. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vinnytsia informed about it in a comment.
According to the official, much of the young people entered the postgraduate course in 2022-2023 not for the sake of science, but for the purpose of delay from mobilization. However, many of them do not perform training programs, which is why they have been deducted.
"Today, these checks are continuing. We will see a large number of those that will be deducted for failure to comply with their curricula or individual plans on the results of the sessions that will take place in June," Vinnitsky explained.
He stressed that it was not about the mass "witch hunting", but about the purification of graduate studies from those who use the status of the applicant of a scientific degree not for its intended purpose. If the graduate student is actively engaged in scientific work, passes the exams and attends classes, he will not have any claims.
Unfortunately, according to the Deputy Minister, most of the graduate students who have entered during the war will probably not come to the defense of theses.
Earlier, the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovy assured that the mobilization of students, graduate students and scientists who are entitled to deferral is not planned, and at the government level such issues are not discussed.
