The Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine reported that more than 60% of fires in the country are caused by military actions. These data indicate significant environmental consequences of the conflict, which affect not only the human population, but also the environment. Shelling and other hostilities lead to the destruction of ecosystems and damage to Ukraine's natural resources, the losses from which are estimated at billions of hryvnias.
This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Oleksandr Krasnolutsky, during a telethon.
