A majority of Ukrainians support a speedy end to the war with Russia through diplomatic negotiations, according to a new poll conducted by the international research company Gallup. The results of this survey raise an important question about citizens' attitudes towards the current state of the war and the future process of peaceful resolution of the conflict.
According to a survey conducted in August and October 2024, an average of 52% of Ukrainians would like Ukraine to negotiate an end to the war as soon as possible.
And only 38% believe that their country should continue the fight until victory. In 2022, this figure was 73%. The following year, it dropped to 63%. And now, for the first time, those who are in favor of an early end to the fighting are in the majority.
