According to the results of a survey by the sociological group "Gradus", 69% of Ukrainians do not believe that the meeting between Russia and the United States in Alaska will be able to bring peace or become a step towards ending the war.
Another 5% of respondents expressed cautious optimism, noting that certain agreements could reduce the level of escalation, but would not become the foundation for a just peace. Only 26% of those surveyed said that negotiations could pave the way for a peaceful settlement, while the rest refrained from answering.
Experts note that the results reflect a high level of distrust of Russia and skepticism about the readiness of the US and the Kremlin to make decisions without Ukraine's participation. At the same time, sociologists emphasize that Ukrainians remain convinced of the need to continue diplomatic efforts, but do not view the Alaska meeting as a turning point.
