The Ministry of Health has successfully concluded memorandums of cooperation with six leading medical institutions for the implementation of a modern rehabilitation system.
The Minister of Health, Viktor Lyashko, signed cooperation agreements with hospitals that own centers of excellence in Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, Uzhhorod, Vinnytsia and Ternopil. These medical facilities already practice advanced approaches to rehabilitation, using state-of-the-art techniques and a patient-centered approach.
Lyashko expressed recognition for these institutions and stated that the task now is to expand and further develop these achievements in the field of rehabilitation in health care. The Ministry of Health will actively support this process, identifying and developing new directions in rehabilitation assistance.
It is noted that in cases such as traumatic brain injury, multiple amputations and spinal cord injuries, the recovery process requires long and painstaking work by specialists. The Ministry plans to use the practical experience of these centers to train rehabilitation teams in modern and effective methods.
Centers of excellence will also serve as centers for the introduction of new methods of rehabilitation and exchange of knowledge among specialists. Specialists from these centers will continue their training, contributing to the development of the community of rehabilitation specialists.
The Ministry of Health also plans to engage external experts to assess the professional needs and capabilities of the rehabilitation teams. The list of leading centers of excellence for the development of modern medical care in Ukraine has already been determined.
