The Ministry of Internal Affairs denied information about new requirements for drivers

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine denied information about the alleged introduction of exams when exchanging or renewing a driver's license. The department emphasized that no changes have occurred in the current procedure.

As before, the exchange and renewal of driver's licenses at the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is carried out without passing theoretical or practical exams. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the information spread on the Internet about mandatory exams is not true.

The service of exchanging or renewing a driver's license is provided in several cases. In particular, it concerns the expiration of the document, changes in personal data, damage or loss of the license, as well as the driver's desire to exchange an old document for a new one.

The algorithm for obtaining the service remains unchanged. To do this, you must contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center in person or use electronic services - Driver's Cabinet or the Diya application. After submitting the necessary documents and paying the established fees, the driver receives a new license.

In addition, the department reminded that during the period of martial law, a medical certificate for exchanging or renewing a driver's license is not mandatory. This rule remains in effect until a separate decision is made to change it.
