Volodymyr Dantes, a popular Ukrainian singer and presenter, could not remain indifferent to the topic of language, which is relevant for our country. He sharply expressed his opinion about parents who continue to communicate with their children in Russian during the war, stressing that this could have a devastating effect on the future of Ukraine.
In his speech on the "SuchTsukrMuz" podcast, Dantes emphasized that this behavior of parents is dangerous for the formation of a patriotic and stable generation capable of resisting manipulation and hostile propaganda. According to the artist, children who grow up in a Russian-speaking environment do not acquire the necessary immunity from the influence of foreign culture and may have blurred views on important national issues.
"I still don't understand parents who speak Russian to their children in Ukraine. I have a huge question for them. You can look at many schools and see how children communicate. There are no complaints about children, because this is a social factor. But the question for parents: you are adults, talk to each other as you want. But where will the child need this language? In what world? And the worst thing I realized is that you are now raising the same generation that will think that things are not so clear-cut. They will watch Russian YouTube, they will be the same as you," Dantes emphasized.
The artist urged parents to rethink their views and realize that they are shaping the future generation. Instead of passing on the Russian language as part of one's culture, one should support the Ukrainian language, because this is not only a matter of cultural choice, but also of national security.
Personally, Volodymyr Dantes is an example of a person who made a conscious choice in favor of the Ukrainian language. Known for his creativity and public position, he switched to Ukrainian in everyday life and on stage, demonstrating that patriotism is not only words, but also concrete actions.
"Language is not just a habit, it is what defines us, our identity, it is a matter of national security. The choice is yours," the singer said, calling on Ukrainians to join in shaping the future without the influence of the aggressor.
